Ritual, Not Routine
Aesop sells a serum, but what people keep coming back to is the few quiet minutes in which they use it. Parsley Seed comes in the amber bottle and cream label the brand is known for, and Aesop has always shown its products slowly: daylight, raw materials, hands, and nothing shouted at the camera.
This is a spec piece. Aesop did not commission it and it is not affiliated with the brand.
The Challenge
Most AI product video looks like AI product video: glossy, fast, too perfect, and the label never reads right. The question was whether AI can hold a brand whose whole identity is restraint, and make something that sits next to its own films rather than next to a demo reel.
Strategy
Take the brand's codes seriously and add nothing of our own. Travertine, linen, resin, a brass dish and a green sprig. One warm light from the side. Slow movement, close details and a woman who takes her time.
Production
Ten key visuals came first, made in Nano Banana and GPT Image 2, to fix the bottle, the materials and the light before anything moved. From those, eleven clips were animated in Seedance and Kling, all run through Higgsfield. The titles were set in After Effects, and the film was edited and graded in Premiere Pro to a single music track.
Titles
Small, widely spaced capitals, a few words at a time: the name, two ingredients, and three words that describe what the serum does. The film ends on the wordmark and nothing else.
Outcome
A 30-second film in 4K and ten key visuals that share the same light, materials and grade. No studio, no cast and no product on set: one brief, one set of references and a small group of tools made everything on this page.
